Terms of use

Last updated 31 October 2026

These are the terms for using PriceBench at pricebench.co.uk. By making an account or using the app you agree to them. "We" and "me" mean Paul Woods, a sole trader based in Glasgow, Scotland. "You" means the person or business using PriceBench.

What PriceBench is

PriceBench is a tool that helps tradespeople work out the hours and materials for a job and produce quotes, invoices and order lists. It is for use in your business.

The figures are a guide, not advice

The hours, material lists, sizes and prices PriceBench suggests are starting points based on typical work. They may be wrong for your job, your area or your supplier. You must check every quote, invoice, order list and calculation before you use it. You are responsible for the prices you quote, the work you do, and for following all rules that apply to your trade, such as gas, electrical, water and building regulations, and for holding any registration or insurance your work needs. Nothing in PriceBench replaces a proper survey, a manufacturer's instructions or your professional judgement.

Your account

Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what is done under your login. Team plans allow up to five users. Please give accurate details when you sign up.

Free trial

New accounts get a free trial of the whole app. The length of the trial is shown when you sign up and is currently 30 days during our launch. We may offer shorter trials later. No payment details are needed to start. When the trial ends and you have not subscribed, your account becomes read only: you can sign in and open, copy and print your existing jobs, but you cannot save new ones. We do not delete your jobs because the trial ended.

Price and payment

After the trial, the price is £15 a month for one user or £29 a month for a team of up to five, with no VAT added while I am not VAT registered. Firms who join first may be offered a lower founding price, which we will confirm in writing and keep for as long as you stay subscribed without a break. Subscriptions run month to month. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the month you have paid for. We do not give refunds for part months unless the law says we must. If we change the price, we will tell you at least 30 days beforehand and it will not change until your next payment after that. Until online payment is switched on, we will agree how to take payment with you by email.

Your information

Your jobs and business details belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only so we can run PriceBench for you. How we handle personal information is explained in the privacy policy. You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time.

What you must not do

Do not use PriceBench to break the law, to try to get into other people's accounts, to overload or damage the service, to copy the app or its data tables in order to sell or give them to others, or to send us anything harmful.

Keeping the service running

I work hard to keep PriceBench available and correct, but it is provided "as it is" and I cannot promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions. I may change features, add or remove tools, or pause the service for maintenance. Keep copies of important quotes and invoices you send. If I ever need to close PriceBench, I will give you at least 30 days' notice so you can take your jobs out.

Responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Otherwise, I am not responsible for losses that come from you using a suggested figure without checking it, such as an under-priced job, an order of the wrong materials, or work done to the wrong specification, or for lost profit or business, or for indirect losses. My total responsibility to you for anything connected to PriceBench is limited to the amount you paid me in the 12 months before the problem arose.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using PriceBench at any time. I may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where that is reasonable.

Changes to these terms

If I change these terms in a way that matters, I will update the date above and tell account holders by email before it applies.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts can deal with any dispute, although this does not take away any rights you have by law where you live.
